Innocent Means

Artist Statement, November 2013

"Children are able to immerse themselves in art without self-consciousness.  As kids get older, most stop making art because of fear. Growing up, I always loved art but had been afraid to express myself.  In this exhibit, I have attempted to express my feelings (anger, sadness and fear) using childhood crafts and toys.  I used these materials to help me access the way I felt as a kid.  I produced these works to think about what innocence really means by making art out of innocent means"
